Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Maria Ierace is from Connecticut. She received her undergraduate degree from Western Connecticut State University with a major in biology. Dr. Ierace then worked for a year as a chemist prior to going to veterinary school. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri. Dr. Ierace became a veterinarian because she loves animals, people, science, and learning. She is very passionate about the human-animal bond and is devoted to trying to make a positive difference in the lives of all species. She had the opportunity to advance her veterinary knowledge during an internship at Animal Dermatology South and the Animal Hospital of Regency Park. Dr. Ierace subsequently accepted a position with Animal Dermatology South as a dermatology resident, where she continues to advance her training while pursuing board certification in veterinary dermatology. Dr. Ierace has two dogs, Watson, a lab mix, and Taz, a Chihuahua mix. She enjoys hiking and spending time with her dogs, horseback riding, reading, kayaking, swimming, surfing, and volunteering at animal shelters. Dr. Ierace couldnt be more excited about being a part of the Animal Dermatology South team and looks forward to meeting you and your beloved pet!
